QA Technical lead engineer (m/f/D)

At FLOYT Mobility we have been operating for more than 20 years within the mobility industry under our brands Billiger-mietwagen.de & CARIGAMI. In addition to our rental car platform, we’ve also added native Android and iOS Apps to our distribution functioning on the same backend as the website.

It is time now to establish and lead a robust QA approach in an engineering guild, fostering a strong culture of quality throughout the organisation. For this, we are looking for a passionate QA Technical Lead Engineer who can shape our quality assurance strategy by promoting best testing practices and ensuring seamless continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD). 

IN THIS OPPORTUNITY YOU WILL

  • QA E2E (end-to-end) Module Creation: you will be responsible for the foundation of our new Automated Testing Framework/Module. This is a milestone for us since it will allow our engineering team to run it in all environments, ensuring our deployments work smoothly. 

  • Module Maintenance: you will be in charge of the development and performance of the module, assuming and including suggestions and improvements from our engineering team. 

  • Support Other Automated Testing Initiatives: as part of the company testing pyramid, you will ensure automated test suites are comprehensive and maintainable using tools such as PHPUnit, Behat, Testcafe, Playwright, Codeception, or Jest.

  • Build our QA Guild: establish a new horizontal QA guild composed of engineers from the ground up, responsible for testing.
  • Foster an in-house Culture of Quality Assurance: you will provide leadership in the QA function within the organisation by: 
    • Educating and guiding our teams on the importance of testing at every stage of the software development cycle. 
    • Establishing best practices for different tests (unit tests, integration tests, acceptance tests, E2E tests...).
    • Join post-mortems to make sure test suits are used correctly and are up to date. 
    • Mentoring and training about QA importance.

Our IDEAL MATCH!

  • 4+ years of QA Experience: demonstrated experience in this role, with at least 1-2 years as a lead/senior QA engineer.
  • You act as an Owner!: you have the initiative to assess the needs of the organisation in terms of QA actions and implement the best testing solutions.
  • Programming Skills: strong general programming skills especially in automated test suites. Familiarity with PHP and JavaScript is ideal.
  • Automation Expertise: hands-on experience with testing tools such as PHPUnit, Behat, Testcafe, Playwright, Codeception, Jest. Strong understanding of automated testing methodologies and frameworks.
  • CI/CD Knowledge: solid experience working with CI/CD pipelines, and an understanding of how to effectively integrate automated testing into these workflows.
  • Deployment Process Improvement: experience optimising deployment processes to support fast, frequent and reliable releases.
  • Passion for Testing Trends: eager to stay up-to-date on the latest testing trends, tools and best practices!
